Thinking your way out of overwhelm doesn’t work. Try these instead.
In overwhelming times, my nervous system (body) takes over. So, to move forward, the best way is not to think harder or act on it first. The priority is to soothe the nervous system.
Should you quit or keep holding on?
All along, quitting signifies failure to me and with it, there’s shame. I never gave myself permission to quit things that I no longer like and I would judge myself. However, to what extent do we hold on to things that no longer serve us?
How do you celebrate success?
I am often wary about celebrating success and allowing myself FEEL successful, being afraid that something might go wrong if I become too happy or "full of myself".
Are you a pessimist or optimist?
Planning for the worst often feels safer than aiming for the best-case scenario, especially for things that truly matter. If something goes wrong, at least you are prepared and feel less disappointed, right?
Lessons I learned when I felt like I failed
If you feel that you have failed in some way or the other, know that you are not alone. You are seen.
The downside of being super productive
Whenever there’s a window for a break, I shall make “full use” of it. Being productive is my jam. Yet, there’s a price to pay.
Do you feel…okay?
When our emotions are acknowledged, we feel seen and understood. Then, and only then we can start to get closer to the core of ourselves.
How do you move on from mistakes?
Have you ever made a mistake and it keeps lingering around in your mind? Remember, you’re worthy, even when you make mistakes
My secret to cultivating long-lasting habit
Building a long-term habit is not about having perfect streaks. It’s also about having the capacity to get back to it when you deviate.
